2553 Tutwiler, Memphis TN

Years ago, I was passing through Memphis and took this photo for Vivian. It’s the duplex where she and Johnny lived before his music career took off. I’ll never forget… she was thrilled to see the photo, and it brought back so many memories for her. One of her favorites: the day Johnny went to audition with Sam Phillips, and she waited for him to return home on their front porch. When he came home, he gave her a huge hug on this very porch and excitedly told her he had a record deal!  :-) 

Check this out… I was perusing through my hard drive today of all of the photos for “I Walked the Line: My Life with Johnny”…  and I ran across this photo of Vivian on that very same porch! You can even tell the siding of the house looks exactly the same.  She was pregnant with Rosanne at the time.  Too cute!
